Panel discussion “Indian election, Northeast India and Sino-Indian relations” on 3.6.2019
On Monday, 3 June 2019, 6.15 pm a panel discussion on Indian election, Northeast India and Sino-Indian relations will evaluate the results of the Indian General Election 2019 in general and in regard to North East India (NEI) in room: 010.00.06. Topics of this election were the economic development and the harmonization of Indian society under Hindutva patterns.

The current BJP-led Assam government actually prepares the expulsion of several millions of immigrants, who immigrated mainly from the then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and West Bengal. In addition, to make the political picture more complex, particularly in NEI, India and China have been expanding their military infrastructure at the North East India/Tibet border.

Prof. Dr. Harshana Rambukwella (Director, Postgraduate Institute of English/Open University of Sri Lanka), Nora Wagner (Political Scientist, Consultant), Dr. Himanshu Jha (SAI), Dr. P. Zingel (Ass. Member SAI) and Dr. T. Rathgeber (Asienhaus, Köln) will discuss these questions; Dr. D. Reinhardt (Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences) is the moderator.

The poster is available here.
