Dr. Isabell Haag started working as a postdoctoral researcher and teacher at the Department of Geography in October 2022. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Bayreuth, an MA in Climate Change from the University of East Anglia and a BA in Geography from the University of Bayreuth.
For her transdisciplinary PhD thesis on climate trend detection in the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan, she was awarded the Vladimir Koeppen Price of the Cluster of Excellence "Climate, Climatic Change, and Society" in 2021. Her research interests cover the fields of transdisciplinary climate change research, climate statistics, climate adaptation and the combination of different knowledge systems with a regional focus on high mountain regions. At SAI, Isabell aims to apply her previous research experience to the Western Himalayan region, further exploring the evidence base of local knowledge in climate change research. Before coming to SAI, Dr. Haag was working as a project coordinator in a collaborative research project on climate change and health at the Bavarian Environmental Agency.
