Dear Students and Colleagues,
We would like to inform you that a "Gleichstellungskommittee" (Gender and Equality Committee) has been established at the South Asia Institute. The current members of this committee are listed at the bottom of this message and can be found on the webpage of the South Asia Institute (link). The committee involves representatives of all status groups at the SAI who have volunteered to serve our community. The committee’s task is to assist and consult staff and students with any concerns that they might have with regards to gender, diversity and equality as well as working preventive with these issues through, for instance, awareness raising and activities that promote a good working atmosphere and collegiality in our institute. All matters, be they large or small, can be discussed confidentially and anonymously with any committee member.
We work in close collaboration with Heidelberg University’s Equal Opportunities Commissioner and are committed to the Basic Principles of Collegial Behaviour (Grundsätze des Partnerschaftlichen Verhaltens) of our University:
