Welcome to Sheela Saravanan
We cordially welcome Sheela Saravanan at the Department of Anthropology at the South Asia Institute. Since January 2016 she is working on a DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) funded project. |
The research aims to examine individual notion of ‘desired children’ (Wunschkinder/Vansh) shaped by the social experiences in the German and Indian contexts that lead to selective abortions.
She will be teaching ‘Global Reproductive Technologies: Socio-Ethical and Legal Dimensions’ during the summer semester, details are available here.
Dr. Sheela Saravanan has 2 Masters from Indian Universities of Bombay and Pune in Geography and Development Planning.
She has a Ph.D. in Public Health from Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
