The Dance drama "Kadhal payanam" (A Journey for Love) was written and staged by students of the SAI. It premiered on June 9th 2012 in Heidelberg as part of the 50th anniversary of the institute.

The troupe was invited to tour Berlin. On invitation by the Indian Embassy (Berlin) the group was performing on September 1st 2012 at the Museum for Ethnology (Berlin Dahlem). See a trailer of the premiere here.
