CATS Student Lab Information Events

Guest Lectures by Dr. Sarunas Paunksnis

Dr. Sarunas Paunksnis from Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania, is coming to the South Asia Institute from November 7-11. In the framework of an ERASMUS exchange, he will teach a number of classes both at the SAI and at the Chair of Visual and Media Anthropology at the HCTS.
Conference and launching of the website and video archive of the project "My Parents´ World - Inherited Memories"

On November 9, 2016, at 3 pm, the website of the project "My Parents’ World - Inherited Memories" will be presented at the Heinrich Zimmer Reading Room of the South Asia Institute Library as part of an afternoon conference.
Chaiti Basu new Bengali lecturer at the SAI

The South Asia Institute cordially welcomes Chaiti Basu, M.A. as Bengali lecturer at the Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures. Starting in the winter term 2016/17, she assumes the position of Mala Al-Farooq, who has retired after 21 years of teaching at the SAI.
New publication on CrossAsia-eBooks on Vāstuvidyā

We are pleased to announce a new publication on the Open Access publication platform CrossAsia-eBooks.
In his dissertation
Die Revitalisierung von Vāstuvidyā im kolonialen und nachkolonialen Indien the Marburg Indologist Felix Otter examines several attempts at revitalisation of Vāstuvidyā since the first half of the 20th century in the context of ideological and historical developments with the methods of textual analysis.
