The event "Jihad? Terrorism in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Germany" with Literature Reading, Talk and Discussion will be conducted by the Pakistan Working Group at SAI on Friday, January 27th 2012, 4.15pm at room 316.

Prof. Subrata Mitra and Dr. Siegfried Wolf, Department of Political Science at SAI, are invited to speak at the European Parliament, Brussels, on January 12th on "Triangular Dynamics and Security in South Asia".

During the lecture-free time the SAI-library will be closed fom Friday, December 23rd to Thursday, January 5th 2012. Books can be ordered and borrowed during this time via University Library (Old Town Main Branch). Starting from Monday, January 9th 2012 the SAI-library service is available, again.

In the recent article "Offsetting Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the Himalaya? Clean Development Dams in Himachal Pradesh, India" the authors Alexander Erlewein and Marcus Nüsser present a study on the effectiveness of dams for climate protection.

On Wednesday, November 30th, the newly appointed Indian Consul General from Munich, Mr. Vikram Misri, was arriving at the SAI for a first informal visit. He was welcomed by Prof. Mitra, Prof. Harder, Dr. Schöttli, Dr. Wolf and Dr. Gieselmann.
