Presentation-Performance by Moushumi Bhownik Songs Grow out of a Land

The Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures is delighted to announce that the renowned singer, writer, recordist and archivist Dr. Moushumi Bhowmik will join us at the Institute for a special presentation performance.

Dr. Bhowmik's work bridges music, oral history, and field recording. Through her long-term project The Travelling Archive, she explores questions of voice, belonging, and the transmission of song traditions between Bengal and the world.
