Dr. Mohan Agashe Dithee: Seeing and Becoming the Self

Dithee explores the act of seeing. Seeing is not passive; instead, it is a transformative act of agency and vision achieved by collapsing boundaries. Produced by Dr. Mohan Agashe, Dithee (2021) is a prize-winning Marathi-language feature film of 89 minutes. The film will be shown and discussed by Dr. Mohan Agashe, an internationally celebrated actor and doctor from Pune, in Heidelberg. Located within the frame of the Warkari Sampradaya, Dithee is of special significance to the Marathi world of Bhakti, and to the memory of G.D. Sontheimer (1934-1992), late Professor at the SAI Heidelberg, who introduced the modern world outside India to the living traditions of Bhakti in Maharashtra.
