Civil Society which is integral to democracy in India has been over regulated in the last decade through complex Tax laws and Foreign Contribution Regulation (FCRA) laws
particularly for the Non Profit Sector (NPS) which has done yeoman service to the Nation since independence. Mathew in his talk will cover issues about the non profit sector, work on
Ageing at the Policy level, as Amicus to the Supreme Court as well as the Regularity environment and framework.
Amita will speak about her experience as a lawyer/activist with regard to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues, its mandate and challenges in the last decade in aligning
Business Responsibility, Human Rights aspects within the larger context of Accountability to communities and stakeholders.
