
Dr. A.S.M. Mostafizur Rahman (Meah Mostafiz)
Dr. ASM Mostafizur Rahman is a lecturer and advancing toward postdoctoral research. He earned his PhD in Political Science from the Institut für Politikwissenschaft (IPW) at Heidelberg University, graduating with great distinction (Magna Cum Laude). His dissertation, titled Globalization and Transformation: State, Ideas, and Economic Policy in Bangladesh, was supervised by Prof. Dr. Rahul Mukherji, Prof. Dr. Jale Tosun, and Prof. Dr. Markus Pohlmann.
Dr. Rahman holds a multidisciplinary academic background, including a double BA in economics, sociology, and literature. He began his career as a journalist in Chittagong, Bangladesh, reporting on political and socio-economic issues and earning international awards. Pursuing his aspirations for higher education, he completed an MA in International Relations (Peace and Conflict Studies) at the European Peace University in Austria.
Dr. Rahman actively bridges academic research and policy discourse in areas such as political economy, governance, development, globalization, and Bangladesh’s engagement with regional and international actors. He is an academic member (Mitglied) of the South Asia Institute, a member of the Heidelberg Postdoctoral Network, the European Association for South Asian Studies (EASAS), the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), the Bangladesh Studies Network in Europe, and Heidelberg Alumni International. He was also an executive board member of the Doctoral Students Convention at Heidelberg.
