Abstract
Dr. Bhisham Sahni (1915-2003), writer, dramatist, academic, actor, and translator was born and educated under colonial rule and wrote primarily after Independence. Deeply involved in the freedom struggle, he experienced the Partition of his country and the birth of a new nation. These events left a deep impression on him and influenced his writings.
