Guest lecture: „Patna, Delhi and Germany: Reminiscences“ by Parasnath Choudhary
In the reading, Parasnath Choudhary will read excerpts from his as yet unpublished reminiscences of his life. His migration from poverty-stricken Bihar to its capital Patna and later to Delhi will feature in the reading, as well as his experiences of the socio-cultural scene in India, encounters with Westerners (most of them hippie travelers) from the 1970s onwards, and impressions of Germany.
Parasnath Choudhary, ex-employee of the SAI branch office in Delhi and free-lance journalist, has time and again published very interesting accounts of his experiences with Germany in both Hindi and English. He will read some salient passages from his English memoirs.
