Subrina Sabur is from Bangladesh. She completed a B.Sc. degree in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) at the Bangladesh Health Profession Institute (BHPI), which is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Dhaka. Subrina also completed a one year internship at the Center for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP). After that she joined the Society for Assistance to Hearing Impaired Children (SAHIC) under the National Center of Hearing and Speech for Children (NCHSC) in Dhaka, where she worked as Senior Speech and Language Therapist. Her four-year work as a Speech and Language Therapist made her realize that not only biological, but also various socio-cultural aspects contribute to the formation of speech and language problems in children, and Subrina decided to study MAHASSA to broaden her knowledge on social and cultural issues of health care in South Asia.
