Iram Nawaz

A native of Pakistan, Iram Nawaz completed her M.Sc in Psychology with a thesis “A Comparative Study of Personality Traits of Natural Science and Social Science Students in term of Gender” from Sargodha University, Pakistan and got silver medal (2nd position) in her class. She did her B.A. in Psychology and Fine Arts. She was Finance Secretary of the Psychological society of Sargodha University. She participated in different co-curricular activities and also attended different conferences and seminar such as a Pre-symposia on Culture and Gender studies, Symposia on Indigenous Research on Schizophrenia and Expressed Emotions in Families, seminar on Qualitative research. She completed a 15-day Workshop on Clinical and Counseling Psychology in PIMH Lahore and a three-month internship in Addiction and Psychological Treatment Center Sargodha. She also did 10 days Internship in NBP (National Bank of Pakistan), Sargodha. Furthermore, she did 1 month Internship in HBL (Habib Bank Limited), Sargodha and 2 years part time job as a social work officer in Anjuman Farogh-e-Illam-o-Hunnar, Sargodha. During her studies she realized that Medical Anthropology plays an important role in health, and is therefore she joined MAHASSA program and completed it recently with a thesis on •Does the shrine heal people? Purification and healing practices at a Muslim darbar “Pir Khara Sharif”. during her this master programme she also worked for 4 months as studentische hilfskraft (student auxiliary) in department of Modern Indology, South Asian Institute, University of Heidelberg, Germany. After completing her MA, she was blessed with a daughter and now she is exploring the possibility of a PhD or a job in the future.
