Alexandra Laub studied Geography with Sociology as subsidiary subject at the University of Heidelberg. During her studies she was especially interested in the relationship of people and their environment. This focus made her write her Bachelor's thesis in collaboration with the Public Health Institute of Heidelberg. The thesis was concentrated on emergency obstetric care in Zambia. While writing her thesis, Alexandra's desire not only to know about spatial phenomena but also about health-related aspects came up. In 2013, she joined the MAHASSA program to pursue her wish and deepen her knowledge of health and Medical Anthropology.
