Amy Clare graduated from McMaster University in 2013 with a double major Bachelor's degree in Medical Anthropology and Peace Studies. Her particular interests are how these two interdisciplinary studies overlap and how health is impacted by grander sociopolitical frameworks. Post graduation she spent time extensively at a preventative health care company and the Women's College Hospital (WCH) in Toronto. From her experience at WCH she has seen how women are affected first hand by their gender and the resources available to them. With the MAHASSA program she would like to further her studies in Medical Anthropology and focus particularly on the intersectionality of health and structural violence that permeates women's lives in South Asia.
