Huda Al-Kebsi comes from Yemen. After completing her B.A. from Sana’a University she joined the Yemen Observer, an English language newspaper published in Yemen. As a reporter she was focusing on humanitarian and social issues taking place in her country and region. Later on, she worked with an international development cooperation organization "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)" as media and communication officer. Whilst working in Yemeni communities, she has developed an interest for humanitarian work. Her enjoyment and critical interest in the social development field has increased throughout these few years, and still growing with her career development. Her decision to undertake the Master of Health and Society in South Asia at this point has been driven by her determination to acquire specific academic knowledge that will allow her to put into practice her newly gained knowledge and experiences from Germany and South Asia when she will return to Yemen. Huda hopes to build a mutually benefiting association. She believes that there is a great need to invest in the education of women, Yemen needs it at all levels. If given the opportunity, Yemeni women can expand their role and demonstrate the level they attained in the political, economic and social areas.
