Harihar Bhattacharyya, Ph.D. (London, UK) is Professor, Department of Political Science, University of Burdwan, West Bengal, India. He has held a number of Visiting Professorial fellowship positions abroad which include Baden-Württemberg Fellowship at the South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University. Bhattacharyya has been associated with a number of global level research projects such as Governance in India (DFG, Germany), Democracy and Social Capital in Segmented Societies (SIDA, Sweden) and Governance, Constitutional Changes and Power-sharing in India (Ford Foundation). Professor Bhattacharyya is the author of several books including The Politics of Social Exclusion in India: Democracy at the Crossroads and Federalism in Asia: India, Pakistan and Malaysia both released in 2010, as well as numerous articles published in various international journals.
