Prateek Pankaj granted a Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes for his doctorate studies
Prateek Pankaj has been awarded a PhD scholarship by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, or the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, to pursue his doctoral research at the South Asia Institute. The doctoral scholarship began in May 2025 and will run till mid-2028 and support Prateek’s research on the socialist movement in colonial and postcolonial India.
He has won a Postgraduate Scholarship from the German Historical Institute London to conduct research for his doctoral project for a month in the United Kingdom, between October and November 2025. With this grant, Prateek Pankaj will visit the British Library and the Centre of South Asian Studies, Cambridge, for archival research for his dissertation, and present his research at the GHIL colloquium.
During ECSAS 2025, he co-convened with Dr. Judhajit Sarkar the panel “113 – What Shade of Red?: Footprints of Socialism in South Asian Intellectual and Political History".
