An Act made to amend the Intoxicants Control Act, 1990

Whereas it is expedient to amend the Intoxicants Control Act, 1990 (Act No.20 of 1990) for carrying out the purposes mentioned below;

Now, therefore, it is enacted as follows:-

1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Intoxicants Control (Amendment) Act, 1993.

2. Amendment of section 4 of Act No.20 of 1990.- In sub-section (2) of section 4 of the Intoxicants Control Act, 1990 (Act No.20 of 1990)-

a) for clause a) shall be substituted the following clause, namely-

"a) the Minister in charge of the Ministry or Department of Home Affairs, who shall also be its Chairman";

b) clause c) shall be omitted;
c) after clause m) shall be inserted the following new clause, namely:-
"mm) the Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs".
