An Act made to amend the Khagrachhari Hill District Local Government Parishad Act, 1989

Whereas it is expedient to amend the Khagrachhari Hill District Local Government Parishad Act, 1989 (Act No.20 of 1989);

Now, therefore, it is enacted as follows:-

1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Khagrachhari Hill District Local Government Parishad (Amendment) Act, 1992.

2. Amendment of section 16 of Act No.20 of 1989.- For the full stop at the end of sub-section (1) of section 16 of the Khagrachhari Hill District Local Government Parishad Act, 1989 (Act No.20 of 1989) shall be substitututed a colon and after that colon shall be inserted the following proviso, namely:-

"Provided that, if the Chief Election Commissioner appointed under article 118 of the Constitution is of the opinion that it is for any special reason impossible to hold the said election within the period determined in this sub-section, the said election shall be hold within the 180 days following next the said period."
