                  THE ABANDONED BUILDINGS (SUPPL-
        EMENTARY PROVISIONS) (AMEND- MENT) ORDINANCE, 1987

Ordinance No.11, 1987

An Ordinance made further to amend the Abandoned Buildings (Supplementary
Provisions) Ordinance, 1985

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Abandoned Buildings (Supplementary Provisions)
Ordinance, 1985 (LIV of 1985) for carrying out the purposes hereinafter appearing;
And whereas Parliament is not in session and the President is satisfied that circumstances exist
which render immediate action necessary;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of article 93 of the Constitution
of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the President is pleased to make and promulgate the
following Ordinance:-

1. Short title and commencment.- (1) This Ordinance may be called the Abandoned Buildings
(Supplementary Provisions) (Amendment) Ordinance, 1987.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th November of 1985.

2. Amendment of section 4 of Ord. LIV of 1985.- In section 4 of the Abandoned Buildings
(Supplementary Provisions) Ordinance, 1985 (LIV of 1985), heretoafter referred to as the said
Ordinance, for the numbers, words and comma "31st day of March, 1986", twice occurring, the
numbers, words and comma "31st day of July, 1988" shall be substituted.

3. Amendment of section 5 of Ord. LIV.- In section 5 of the said Ordinance, in sub-section
(1),-

     (a) for the numbers, words and commas "31st day of March, 1986, and before the
     30th day of September, 1986, publish in the official Gazette" the numbers, words
     and commas "commencement of this Ordinance and before the 30th day of
     September, 1988, publish, from time to time, in the official Gazette" shall be
     substituted;
     (b) in clause (a), for the words "a list of" the words "lists of" shall be substituted;
     (c) in clause (b), for the words "a list of buildings in respect of which notice" the
     words "lists of buildings in repect of which notices" shall be substituted.

4. Amendment of section 6 of Ord. LIV of 1985.- In section 6 of the said Ordinance, for
clause (a) the following clause (a) shall be substituted, namely:-

     "(a) specific performance of contract in respect of any building the possession of
     which has been taken by the Government as abandoned property under the
     President's Order or in respect of which for taking possession by the Government as
     abandoned property under that Order has been issued, or"
