Bhutan Research (www.bhutan-research.org) is an internet knowledge and resource base, dedicated to the study of politics and democracy in the Kingdom of Bhutan. It is run by Marian Gallenkamp, senior researcher at the Department of Political Science, and provides for an extensive collection of bibliographic data, full-text articles and additional links and resources related to Bhutanese politics. It seeks to encourage and support scholars and students in their research on Bhutan by providing a comprehensive collection of sources and to invite readers to actively participate and enrich the field of Bhutan Studies.

On January 12, Professor Subrata K. Mitra will give a keynote address on "The South Asian Security Dilemma and the India-China-Pakistan Strategic Triangle", whereas Dr. Siegfried O. Wolf a statement on "India-Pakistan-Afghanistan - A Triangle Under Stress" at the conference ‘Triangular Dynamics and Security in South Asia: Implications for Europe/UK’.
The conference will take place at the European Parliament, ASP A1H, Brussels.

On September 12-17 Professor Subrata K. Mitra and his doctoral candidate Lu Yang were invited by the Department of International Relations of Tsinghua University of China for a five-day visit. During his visit, Professor Mitra gave lectures on “When Rebels Become Stakeholders: Traditional Society, Modern Politics and the Resilience of India’s Democracy”, “Nuclear, Engaged and Non-aligned? The Ambiguity of India’s Power”, “Being & Becoming: Identity, Welfare and Citizenship in Europe”. From November to December 2010, the Department of Political Science will host Dr. Namrata Goswami, a scholar from the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (New Delhi).
Dr. Namrata Goswami's research sojourn was made possible by a fellowship funded by the Heinrich Boll Foundation. She will conduct research on her project titled Countering Insurgencies in India's Democratic Context: Limits on the ‘Use of Force’ and the notion of 'Proportionality’.
The Department of Political Science is pleased to announce that Professor Partha Ghosh , Jawaharlal Nehru University, will be in residence at our Department during October 2010 as a Humboldt visiting professor. Professor Partha Ghosh will hold a presentation within the Colloquium for MA and PhD students on October 19th.
