Reading by Meena Kandasamy on 11.5.2016
Meena Kandasamy will read from her novel “Reis & Asche” on May 11th, 2016 at 8.00 p.m. in the Intercultural Centre, Bergheimer Str. 147, 69115 Heidelberg. The event is part of the literature project "Heidelberg reads new world literature" and is moderated by Prof. Dr. Hans Harder (Head of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures, South Asia Institute).

The reading is organized in cooperation with the Intercultural Centre, the publishing company "The Wunderhorn" and the South Asia Institute, University of Heidelberg.

Meena Kandasamy is an Indian poet, writer, activist and translator. Her work maintains a focus on caste annihilation, linguistic identity and feminism.
Her novel “The Gypsy Goddess” was published by Atlantic Books and HarperCollins India in 2014. The German translation entitled “Reis & Asche” was published by “Das Wunderhorn” in 2016.
