Bengali Summer School 2018
The Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures, South Asia Institute, offers beginners’ and advanced courses in Bengali.
Dates: 15 - 30 August 2018

Course fee: 200 Euros
Accommodation fee: ca. 250-300 Euros
Important: For all courses a basic knowledge of the Bengali script is mandatory.
In the beginners’ course the participants will acquire skills in speaking, reading, listening and writing. They will gain a preliminary knowledge of Bengali grammar with a basic vocabulary and familiarize themselves with Bengali conversation styles.
In the advanced course the communicative abilities will be enhanced, grammatical knowledge will be strengthened, and the vocabulary will be expanded. Emphasis will be on selected grammatical topics, newspaper readings, listening exercises (accompanied by films, TV programs, radio broadcasts, poetry and text readings, etc.) and conversation.
