We cordially invite all students of the Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures to our DEPARTMENT BREAKFAST on 24 April 2019, 10 am in our department on the second floor of the new CATS (Voßstrasse 2, building 4130, 69115 Heidelberg). With a buffet with coffee and snacks, we want to start in the new semester comfortably and to inaugurate the new premises solemnly. |

From 2 to 20 September 2019, the South Asia Institute will organize an Urdu Intensive Course. This course teaches a basic knowledge of Urdu on the beginner’s level. The advanced participants will consolidate expand their vocabulary and develop communicative skills. The course fee is 250 Euros and the application deadline is 31 May 2019. Dr. Jürgen Schaflechner (Department of Modern
South Asian Languages and Literatures, SAI) and Sjoerd van Tuinen (University
of Rotterdam) have received a special grant from Princeton University's Fung
Global Network Fund to produce a film project on the topic of the politics of
resentment.
