Josephine Tamilmani hails from South India, holds a Masters degree in Social Work with a focus on Medicine and Psychiatry from the University of Madras and her thesis was about Breast Cancer awareness among Working Women. After finishing her M.A., she worked as a Community OutReach Officer for a Non Governmental Orgnanisation, specializing on HIV/AIDS, Public Health and enhancing Community Opportunities. Later, she was employed as a Research Assistant in a Schizophrenia Research Foundation (collaborates with the WHO) which works on Rehabilitation and Research in disorders of the mind. She hopes that the field of Health would enable her in serving others; and that it would also help her to work towards improving people's health and wellbeing which ultimately would be the greatest reward of her every day work. Her motivation led her to choose the MAHASSA program and she found it was the right choice for her aspiration. Josephine firmly believes that this program will be of great benefit and open new avenues for her future.
