Hope Rayson is a graduate of the University of Tennessee holding a B.A. in Anthropology with a concentration on immigration and transmigrationism. She worked for and helped develop a number of Non Governmental Organizations that focused on providing legal and social services to immigrant communities in the US. She also lobbied at the state and national level to promote public policies and legislation that combated the discrimination of individuals based on their nationality. She joined the Mahassa program in 2012, after discovering it on the German Academic Exchange website, in hopes of continuing her work in promoting social justice.
