Khan Rahat Al Rafe
After obtaining Bachelor and Master’s degree from the University of Chittagong, a state-run largest university in Bangladesh, I started my career as a journalist (reporter) at The Independent, a national English daily in Bangladesh. During my employment there, as a reporter I have covered many environment-related issues as well as societal issues including poverty reduction and others.
Later, I joined The Daily Sun, another renowned English newspaper in Bangladesh. During my employment there, I worked for the health and social development of the workers of the readymade garment workers in Bangladesh.
As a journalist, I have covered many international events and seminars that focused on health and societal issues in Bangladesh as well as South Asia.
With the plan of gaining a deep understanding on the health and societal issues in South Asia, I attended MAHASSA. I strongly believe that the program will make me equipped well to proceed with my journalistic moves offering an insightful looking on the societal issues.
