Pratiksha Marahatta is from Nepal and completed her bachelor's degree in Nursing from Garden City College (Rajiv Gandhi University Of Health and Science), Bangalore, India. The undergraduate curriculum introduced her to a wide scope of subjects like psychology, sociology, medical concepts, child health, community health, mental health and research. She joined the programs Polio Camp, Diabetes Camp and volunteered for a Mental and Rehabilitation Center. These exposures to society always helped her to be more confident and innovative in her works. Pratiksha also worked in a hospital for a few months. She considers the Master’s degree to be an important step in her career and she feels confident that this is the right time to take this step. Through the program of MAHASSA, she hopes to broaden her knowledge and skills necessary for innovation and discovery to tackle simple as well as complex health-related issues.
