Short biography
Sandra Bärnreuther is a PhD candidate in social anthropology at the South Asia Institute and the Cluster Asia & Europe, University of Heidelberg where she works on In-Vitro Fertilization in India. Sandra studied social anthropology, geography and educational science at the Universities of Münster, Delhi, New York and Heidelberg and received her M.A. from the University of Heidelberg in 2009. Her fieldwork-based M.A. thesis examined childbirth in Ladakh, India and won the South Asia Institute,s advancement award. She has also worked as a lecturer and student assistant at the University of Heidelberg.
