Film Screening of „Astu - So be it“ on 19th of October
The South Asia Institute cordially invites to the film screening of „Astu - So be it“ on Thursday, 19th of October 2017, 6 p.m. in room Z 10. Mohan Agashe playes Dr. Chakrapani Shastri, a Sanskrit Professor who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. He sees an elephant on the street and fascinated with the creature, he follows it home, and is cared for by the family to whom the elephant belongs. The Marathi film introduces the issues of eldercare for demented elderly and focuses on the changing dynamics between a father who is gradually losing his memory, and his daughter, who becomes his care taker. The film was directed in 2015 by the duo Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Suktankar with the leading actors Mohan Agashe, Iravati Harshe, Milind Soman and Amruta Subhash.
The co-director and actor Mohan Agashe will be our guest at the film screening.
