Lectures by Christina Oesterheld in Pakistan
From 10-12 February 2017 Dr Christina Oesterheld took part in three panels of the 8th Karachi Literature Festival: a book launch of Harris Khalique’s book Crimson Parpers: Reflections on Struggle, Suffering, and Creativity in Pakistan, OUP Karachi 2017, and discussions on „Novel aur Nisai Shaoor“ (The novel and feminine consciousness, in Urdu) and “The Dawn of Freedom, The Pain of Partition“.
During his opening remarks the Consul General of Germany in Karachi Rainer Schmiedchen also presented the Urdu textbook for speakers of German recently published by Christina Oesterheld and Amtul Manan Tahir to the public.
After the festival Christina Oesterheld travelled on to Lahore where she met Urdu writers and former Heidelberg Post Doc Fellows from Pakistan and delivered talks at the Forman Christian College University, the Kinnaird College for Women, the Government College University and the Urdu Science Board. Her visit was widely covered in Urdu and English newspapers.

Lecture at Government College University, Lahore, with host Dr. Khalid Sanjarani, who had stayed 2008 als PostDoc Fellow of HEC at the SAI.
