New publication on CrossAsia-eBooks on Vāstuvidyā
 | We are pleased to announce a new publication on the Open Access publication platform CrossAsia-eBooks. In his dissertation Die Revitalisierung von Vāstuvidyā im kolonialen und nachkolonialen Indien the Marburg Indologist Felix Otter examines several attempts at revitalisation of Vāstuvidyā since the first half of the 20th century in the context of ideological and historical developments with the methods of textual analysis. |
The relationship between the revived version(s) of Vāstuvidyā with the precolonial formulations of the lore, the relevance of the apologetic discourse of the indigenous sciences for the revitalisation of Vāstuvidyā, and the discourse strategies employed in colonial and post-colonial Vāstu literature are the central themes of the book.
The book is a revised version of a PhD-thesis submitted to the Philosophical Faculty of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 2012.
The principal form of publication on CrossAsia-eBooks is an Open Access online publication. The book can be read and downloaded as a whole or in individual chapters. In addition to the freely available digital formats CrossAsia-eBooks also offers a book publication (print on demand) that can be purchased from local or online booksellers.
