| „Urmila - My Memory Is My Power (Urmila - für die Freiheit)“ is a German documentary by Susan Gluth from 2016. The film follows Urmila's quest for justice and her dream to end child slavery in Nepal. |
The film has been launched in Germany on May 26, 2016 and has already been shown in Heidelberg; further screenings in the Rhein-Neckar region are possible.

In 2000, Nepal Youth Foundation (official film partner) began a campaign to end the practice of Kamalari, a centuries-old system of indentured servitude embedded in the culture of rural Nepal. These girls are supported with long-term educational programs (scholarships/childhood development/vocational training) in Kathmandu.
