Welcome to Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra
  We welcome Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra as our guest at the Department of Development Economics of the South Asia Institute. He is from Hyderabad, the joint capital of both the Indian States of Andhra Pradesh and Teleangana, where he is working as Assistant Professor at the School of Economics, University of Hyderabad.
Prior to joining the University of Hyderabad, he has worked as an Assistant Vice President, Global Corporate Trust, CDO Analytics, Bank of New York Mellon, Pune; as an on-site Manager, Financial Strategic Division, Shinsei Bank, Tokyo; Manager-Quant Finance, Investment Research, Evalueserve.com Pvt. Ltd., Gurgaon, followed by Research Officer, Money, International Banking and Finance division, National Institute of Bank Management, Pune.

His prime focus of interest is the open macro- monetary economics, Financial Inclusion and Inclusive Growth, Energy Economics, Financial Economics, Time Series Econometrics analysis and Urban Economics, and financial risk measurement and management.

He teaches Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Statistics, Fixed Income Markets and Instruments, Financial Derivatives and Risk Management, Indian Economics in both Graduate and Master program in Economics.

Dr. Mishra is the author of the two books ‘Linkage Dynamics of Indian Financial Markets: A Theoretical and Empirical Perspective’, and ‘How Good is Merton Model at Assessing Credit Risk? Evidence from India’ and published more than twenty articles in the refereed international and national journals and presented a bunch of research papers in the area of financial economics in both national and international conferences.
