Reading of Mohandas by Uday Prakash on 28.5.2014, 4 p.m.
 | On May 28th, 2014 at 4 p.m. a reading of the novel "Mohandas" by the popular Hindi author Uday Prakash will take place in the Heinrich-Zimmer reading room of the library of the South Asia Institute. |
“Mohandas”, translated from Hindi by Gautam Liu (Hindi-lecturer at the South Asia Institute) and Ines Fornell shows the consequences that result from the still existing social problems in India, like caste spirit, corruption and nepotism and it is based on a true story.
The novel took the first place in the latest issue of the literature ranking list entitled „Weltempfänger“ and the film adaption of the novel has been shown at numerous international film festivals.
