 | The research project "Creating the ,New' Asian Woman: Entanglements of Urban Space, Cultural Encounters and Gendered Identities in Shanghai and Delhi" (SINGLE) was launched under the German projectleader Prof. Brosius (picture) by an international research network. |
The project deals with the representation of single women in China (Shanghai) and India (Delhi) and the changes under the influence of globalization. The research network is funded and supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the network of Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA).
The project is a collaboration coordinated by Prof. Christiane Brosius (University Heidelberg, Germany), Dr. Melissa Butcher (The Open University, United Kingdom), and Prof. Jeroen deKloet (University of Amsterdam, Netherlands).
