New releases in the SAI 2010

In 2010 numerous publications have emerged from the work of the employees of the South Asia Institute. At this point a small choice:


Prof. Dr. Hans Harder Head of the Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures (Modern Indology) wrote the book Literature and Nationalist Ideology. Writing Histories of Modern Indian Languages. The book looks at a great variety of aspects of the literary historiography of modern regional languages. Including the successful arrival of English in the nation's literary corpus. Moreover, Gautam Liu the Hindi-Lecturer of the Department published with Ines Fornell the first part of the Hindi-textbook Hindi bolo! Hindi für Deutschsprachige. New releases from the Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures (Modern Indology)


The Department of Cultural and Religious History of South Asia (Classical Indology) releases in cooperation with the Collaborative Research Center „Ritual Dynamics“ funded by the DFG - among other contributions to the main topic - the book Hindu and Buddhist Initiations in India and Nepal from Astrid und Christof Zotter. Within the series Ritual Dynamics and the Science of Ritual (ed. by. Prof. Dr. Axel Michaels, Anand Mishra et al.) emerged Volume 1: Grammars and Morphologies of Ritual Practices in Asia and Volume III: State, Power and Violence. The political scientist Dr. Siegfried O. Wolf writes since October 2010 a regular column in the political magazine The Unseen published by the Daily Sun in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
