Christian Weiss receives the Federal Cross of Merit

The South Asia Institute conveys its sincere congratulations to the Heidelberg publisher Christian Weiss who has been awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. On 5 December 2016, he was honoured for his longstanding commitment to democracy and human rights (especially with regard to the Draupadi Publishing House) in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts.

The first issue of Interdisziplinäre Zeitschrift für Südasienforschung has been published in October 2016.
The current issue presents the article “Islam and Contraception in Urban North India - Muslim Women's Reproductive Health Behavior and Decision-making” by Constanze Weigl-Jäger (Department of Anthropology, SAI).
