Jürgen Schaflechner receives Fung Global Fellowship
After the coming summer term, Jürgen Schaflechner, assistant professor at the Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures, will spend a year at Princeton. He has obtained one of the prestigious Fung Global Fellowships and will work at the Princeton Institute for International & Regional Studies (PIIRS) as part of a group of six international fellows on “The Culture and Politics of Resentment”.

The Open Access publication platform CrossAsia-eBooks published two new books, “Satsaṅgijīvanam by Śatānanda” and the “Bibliography of Online Resources on Chinese Strategy, Security and Military Matters”.
Michael Liebig & Saurabh Mishra: The Arthaśātra in a Transcultural Perspective
Pentagon Press recently published a new book by Michael Liebig (Department of Political Science, SAI) and Saurabh Mishra (Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi). The book is entitled "The Arthaśātra in a Transcultural Perspective: Comparing Kautilya with Sun-Zi, Nizam al-Mulk, Barani and Machiavelli".
New publication by Rahul Mukherji
Prof. Rahul Mukherji, the new head of Political Science, recently published his first article since teaching at the SAI. His article focuses on "Governance reform in a weak state: Thirty years of Indian experience" and was published on 29 September 2016 in volume 30 of the journal Wiley Governance. The article is available here.
