The Rabindranath Tagore Culture Prize is introduced by the Indo-German Society in the 1986 for unique contributions for a deeper understanding of Indian cultures and ways of life in German speaking areas. The prize is named after the Poet and Nobel Prize Winner Rabindranath Tagore.

The South Asia Institute’s Department of History went on an excursion to Berlin from 1st -3rd August to familiarise students of South Asian history with archival collections of interest. The trip was organized by Rafael Klöber and Manju Ludwig, in collaboration with Frank Drauschke from Facts & Files as well as the Institute of Asian and African Studies. The excursion included a workshop about how to use archives, highlighted by guided tours in the Secret State Archives Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation and the Federal Archive. The excursion was well received by the participating students of the South Asia Institute and the History Seminar.
