Joint Regional Conference on “Governing Youth in South Asia”

The Joint Regional Conference on September, 22 - 24th 2013 on the topic “Governing Youth in South Asia” in Kathmandu  was co-organised by the Social Science Baha (SSB), the Delhi Office of South Asia Institute (SAI) of Heidelberg University  and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation New Delhi (KAS).

New research project (SINGLE) by Prof. Brosius started

The research project "Creating the ,New' Asian Woman: Entanglements of Urban Space, Cultural Encounters and Gendered Identities in Shanghai and Delhi" (SINGLE) was launched under the German projectleader Prof. Brosius (picture) by an international research network.

Kristina Czura receives award for practice-relevant developmental research

Kristina Czura, former PhD student of Stefan Klonner, Professor of the Department Development Economics, was honored for her doctoral thesis with the award for “praxisrelevante Entwicklungsforschung” (practice-relevant developmental research). She received the price for her work "Empirical essays on microfinance in South Asia: Financial product design, borrower welfare, and risk coping".

Workshop: Translating the Bhāgavata Purāṇa

From the 1st to the 2nd  October 2013 the Workshop entitled “Translating the Bhāgavata Purāṇa” takes place at the South Asia Institute in Room Z 10. The workshop is organized by Monika Boehm-Tettelbach, Neeraja Poddar, and Anand Mishra.
