Carina Zang (M.Sc.) has joined the Junior Research Group "Environment and Health in Arid Regions: Dynamics of Urbanization, Challenges of Water Resource Management and New Risks for Human Well-Being" (http://www.hce.uni-heidelberg.de/jrg/urbanisation/index.html) with the Group Leader Juliane Dame (SAI-Department Geography) in September 2014.
Visit of Ambassador of Pakistan
  On Friday, November 21st 2014, his Excellency, H.E. Syed Hasan Javed, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Germany will give a guest lecture at the South Asia Institute. The lecture entitled „Iqbal, the Philosopher of Convergence between East and West” will take place from 10-12h in room Z10.

Sri Lanka Lecture Series on 21.11.2014

We cordially invite to the lecture by Dr. Des. Rina M. Research Colloquium by Prof. Emily Boyd
On Thursday, 20.11.2014 the lecture by Prof. Emily Boyd, University of Reading on "Exploring political ecology of climate change adaptation discourse with reference to coastal communities in India" will take place as part of the research colloquium at 6 p.m. in room Z10 of the South Asia Institute.
Hans Harder: Herbert. Ein Kalkutta-Roman
Draupadi Verlag recently published the novel "Herbert. Ein Kalkutta-Roman" by Nabarun Bhattacharya, which was translated from Bengali by Hans Harder.
