Interview with Axel Michaels and Hans Harder in Mail Today

 
The newspaper Mail Today (New Delhi) published on April 15th an interview entitled "Sanskrit Fever Grips Germany" with Prof. Axel Michaels (Head of the Department of Classical Indology) and Prof. Hans Harder (Head of the Department of Modern South Asian Languages and Literatures) , which was conducted by Aditya Ghosh (Research Associate at Department of Geographie).

Gita Dharampal-Frick: Key Concepts in Modern Indian Studies

Oxford University Press India recently published the book "Key Concepts in Modern Indian Studies", edited by Gita Dharampal-Frick (Head of the Department of History at the South Asia Institute), Monika Kirloskar-Steinbach (University Konstanz), Rachel Dwyer (University of London) and Jahnavi Phalkey (King's College London). This book is the first reference volume to introduce the terminology used for cultural studies and the social sciences relating to India and will be of interest to scholars and students of history, sociology, politics, religious studies and economics.  
Welcome to Kai Fürstenberg

Kai Fürstenberg will start as a lecturer at the Department of Political Science from April 1st 2015. He studied political science, political science of South Asia and South Asian history at the Universities of Heidelberg and Uppsala.
