Axel Michaels & Govinda Tandon: Pasupatiksetra: A Historical Inventory
Himal Books recently published the book "Pasupatiksetra: A Historical Inventory", co-edited by Prof. Axel Michaels (Senior Professor and former head of the Department of Classical Indology, SAI) and Govinda Tandon. Further information is available here.
The publication is a historical inventory of the “Field of Pashupati“ at the famous Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal. Together with a long introduction into the history, organization and rituals of the Pashupatikshetra, the book presents historical photos and maps of the area by Harald Fritzenkotter that help to identify the hundreds of shrines, statues and other sacred places.
