Heidelberg University signs MoU with JNU
Prof. Dr. Bernard Eitel, Rektor Heidelberg University and Prof. Dr. SK Sopory, Vice Chancellor, JNU, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 26th 2012, opening up new areas of research cooperation and student and faculty exchange between the two universities.
Cooperation is enhanced in key areas of social sciences, linguistics, translation studies, and sciences, and comprises the exchange of students and faculty, joint research, and joint short-term academic programmes. JNU is one of the most important partners of Heidelberg University in India - the first and second Heinrich Zimmer chairholders came from JNU, as do many Baden-Wuerttemberg fellows and graduate students at SAI and the Cluster 'Asia and Europe'. Researchers from SAI and the Cluster have been visiting and teaching at JNU, and it is among the favourite universities for studying in India among students from Heidelberg.
